Ohio Artists Take Home Exhibition Honors at 13th Annual OOVAR Juried Show

The work of four Ohio artists received awards at the 13th annual Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry (OOVAR) Juried Show, which celebrated its closing reception at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Carnegie Gallery on Feb. 29.

Two New Public Art Pieces Come to Kent State University

At first glance, the new Percent for Art pieces in Kent State University’s Taylor Hall look like crazy crosswords. Or maybe a supersized Scrabble board. While the artwork itself might not actually be a giant puzzle, artist Shane Allbritton said figuring out how to "communicate communication" required some creative problem-solving.

78 Artists Receive Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Awards

Members of the Ohio Arts Council board approved Individual Excellence Awards for state fiscal year 2019 during a public meeting on March 20. Seventy-eight artists will receive funding for 75 applications in the disciplines of crafts, design arts/illustration, interdisciplinary, collaborative and performance art, media arts, photography, visual arts 2D, and visual arts 3D.
